Joint Maritime Information and Coordination Centre was established in 2013 at PNS QASIM following formal approval by the Government of Pakistan. The centre is working to harmonize the efforts of all Government agencies/ stakeholders in improving safety and security at sea. In August 2020, JMICC was relocated to its current purpose built infrastructure setup equipped with state of the art systems and softwares. Currently, JMICC is manned by team of officers and men from Pakistan Navy, friendly countries and different national stakeholders including Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG), Karachi Port Trust (KPT), Port Qasim Authority (PQA), Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) etc.
Since inception JMICC has come a long way in establishing itself as a reputed Maritime Information Sharing Centre in the region. JMICC has established linkages with number of national and international stakeholders from maritime sector, which include Ministries, Ports and shipping, Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), industry, fisheries, academia etc. JMICC is serving as a bridge between these entities to effectively coordinate response against maritime sector contingencies.
